Our Summer Reading Program is a free, flexible, 7-week program that encourages children in elementary school to keep reading over the summer. The theme for 2020 is Imagine Your Story, and the program runs June 22 - August 9. This year families will use the online reporting system READsquared to log reading at home. Download the app or go online to log minutes read, earn badges, and automatically be entered to win weekly raffle prizes.
1. Register Online – Parents, you can create an account first to easily monitor your children's activity. Beginning on 6/22, download the READsquared app and select "Palisades Free Library" as your library, or use the link on our Summer Reading page to register.
2. Track Your Reading – Log in to track your reading and earn points. Try to log 20 minutes each day. You may log up to 2 hours in a day, but be sure to log some reading each week so that you're eligible to win weekly prizes!
3. Participate! – We may not be able to gather at the library just yet, but we hope you'll take advantage of our virtual programming and grab-and-go crafts. And please be in touch if we can help you with curbside pickup! We'd love to find you our latest and greatest summer reads!
