Museum Passes
The library has membership in six area museums.  These museums allow us to lend our member passes to our library users.  The passes allow free admission for a family and can be checked out for 3 days. 

Patrons with Palisades Free Library cards may reserve passes in advance.  Passes must be picked up on the day for which they are reserved.

Only one pass per family may be checked out at a time.

The fine for overdue passes is $10 a day.

Hudson River Museum Science and Astronomy Programs Learn more about the stars, planets and space happenings in the Andrus Planetarium. See a planetarium show, participate in lectures and discussions, and go "Beyond the Dome" in special monthly presentations that include hands-on experience.
Guggenheim Museum   Now through July 16, 2012 From the Archives: Artist Awards and Acquisitions 1956 - 1987: This focused presentation provides a compelling historical overview of three award series - The Guggenehim Internationals, The Theodoron Awards and The Exxon Nationals and Internationals - exhibited at the Guggenheim between 1956 and 1987. The participating artists and resulting acquisitions are highlighted, with accompanying photographs, catalogues, audio and video clips, and ephemeral materials that illuminate the institution's longstanding support of emerging artists.
Hudson Highlands Nature Museum   6 Week Program beginning January 10th and Jan 11th Animals and Nature Together -  Child/Adult Program (10-11:00am) Winter program designed for children 2-4 which gives children and their parents/caregivers the opportunity to explore the world of animals together in a fun, creative environment utilizing crafts, songs, movement, stories, hands-on activities and outdoor exploration.  This one-of-a-kind program helps to build an understanding and respect for the animals and plants in our natural community and is a great way to prepare young children for preschool.
Intrepid Sea Air & Space Museum   Saturdays and Sundays- Weekend Demonstrations 11am - 1pm Families are invited to drop by the discovery Deck in the Exploreum for arts, crafts and experiments designed around the four Exploreum themes: sea, air, space and life at sea.   KIDS WEEK 2012 February 18 - 26, 2012  Kids Week 2012 is Intrepid's annual celebration of all things kids! Our out of this world partners offer nine jam-packed days of thematic, family-friendly hands on fun. Kids Week is the coolest place to warm up this February break!
Museum Village   Visit this 19th century recreated village & shop in a 130-year-old general store, see a real Mastodont skeleton, dip a candle, step inside a 200-year-old log cabin, sit in a one-room schoolhouse and watch a broom or coverlet being made. All that and be home in time for dinner!
New York City Fire Museum   Did you know? The Museum, in conjunction with the New York City Fire Department, operates a world-class fire safety education program designed to teach participants how to prevent fires within the home and importantly, how to protect themselves and escape should one occur. Over 10,000 children learn about fire prevention at the Museum each year.
